What do
David Copperfield, Lynyrd Skynyrd,
& 12-time Grammy winner Juanes
have in common?
Eric Pensenstadler
Owner, Video Horizons, LLC
These are just a few of the artists that have employed the talents of Eric Pensenstadler over the years. Since graduating from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, Eric has worked on 4 continents, in over 30 countries, and in all
50 US States.
Now, as an independent videographer teamed with his wife, a production coordinator from Venezuela, they are bringing their vast array of experiences home to Pittsburgh with Video Horizons, LLC, a video production company Eric started after his time with master illusionist David Copperfield.
When asked about his work with Copperfield:
“I was his closeup camera operator”, among other duties which to this day Eric explains he is still obligated by contract not to discuss with the general public. “I thought that I was a perfectionist... David takes it to another level. David perfected my skills as a camera operator more than any book or school ever did.”
When asked about working in other countries:
“I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn a lot of different things from a lot of different people and cultures,” Eric said. “I’ve been able to incorporate all of these influences into my personal work. Sort of like ‘the best of the best’.”
When asked why Pittsburgh for Video Horizons:
“Pittsburgh is home for us,” said the southwestern Pennsylvania resident and his wife. “It always has been, it always will be. I knew that I could make home anywhere, and honestly, I had several opportunities to relocate to the Los Angeles and Hollywood markets, but, I like Pittsburgh and there is an increasing demand for film and video production here. So Pittsburgh is home for Marger and I and for Video Horizons.”
When asked about making the transition from concert video to wedding videography:
“I met my wife while touring in South America. When we planned our wedding we did all the typical things.. got all the wedding catalogs, went to the bridal shows, etc. When it came to the video for our own wedding I simply was not happy with what I found, so, I did it myself and I felt that it was better than any other wedding work we saw. Now, wedding videography is the bulk of Video Horizons’ business and my wife and I work together to create some of the area’s best wedding videos.”
